Island Council of Tenerife has completed the improvement works of the PR-TF 70 trail Tenerife, which starts from Guía de Isora to Boca de Tauce, which was affected after the fire declared in the area in 2012.
The vice president and insular councilor of Tourism, Alberto Bernabé, explains that this action has involved an investment of 84,491 euros framed within the Tourism Product Improvement Program of the MEDI-FDCAN, “which develops a line of work based on providing the island with the infrastructure and adequate equipment that allow the development of tourism products and activities and also ensure the conservation and protection of natural spaces “.
This project is born from the result of the work of a technical table integrated by the Tourism Technical Service of the Cabildo, the Area of Environment and Tourism of Tenerife, where monthly the actions that are going to be developed are coordinated in order to link the tourist product with the planning of the network of environmental trails.
The work carried out has made it possible to put this path back into service, totaling 14.8 kilometers, in which the damaged signage has been replaced and new vertical and horizontal signs of direction and risks have been placed, as well as clearing and cleaning works and the modification of part of the layout and its adaptation to improve safety. The vinyls of the information panels have also been replaced, taking into account the current conditions of the route, including the derivations and the existence of the Tágara and Chasogo refuges.
This signage has been made according to the guidelines of the Returnat project on recreational and tourist uses in nature, a transversal initiative promoted by the Cabildo in which municipalities and other public administrations also collaborate in order to have a range of activities and infrastructures in nature that are sustainable, safe, of quality and that generate socioeconomic development for Tenerife.
